What will my GLP-1 medication actually cost? The honest answer is that the pharmacy sets the price and no one at GoodLife Health touches it. The $299 a month membership never covers or includes medication and the pharmacy bills you directly at its own price with nothing added by us. As of September 2026 the manufacturers' own self-pay programs list Wegovy pens at $199 a month for the first two fills and $349 a month after that, the Wegovy pill from $149 a month at lower doses and Zepbound vials from $299 to $449 a month depending on dose.
- Medication is a separate charge from the membership and is billed by the pharmacy you choose at that pharmacy's own price.
- Published manufacturer self-pay prices as of September 2026 run from $149 to $449 a month depending on the drug and the dose.
- The membership fee never changes with the medication or the dose because we earn nothing on either.
- Insurance coverage of a medication is between you, your plan and your pharmacy and is never promised by us.
What will my GLP-1 medication actually cost?
The question deserves a number and not a shrug, so here is the number and its date. Through NovoCare, the self-pay program run by Novo Nordisk, Wegovy pens are listed at $199 a month for the first two fills for new patients under an introductory offer through December 2026 and $349 a month after that. The Wegovy pill is listed from $149 a month at lower doses. Through LillyDirect, the self-pay program run by Eli Lilly, Zepbound vials are listed from $299 to $449 a month depending on the dose. Those are the manufacturers' published figures as of September 2026 and they change, so check both programs before you decide.
What we can promise is what sits on top of those prices. Nothing. GoodLife Health sets no price on medication, sees no part of the pharmacy's charge and takes no share of it. The prescription is written to the pharmacy you choose and the pharmacy bills you directly. That is the whole arrangement and it is the reason the fee can stay flat.
Why the membership and the medication are two separate charges
The membership is $299 a month and covers the clinical relationship and the labs. The first charge is $598 and covers the first two months. From month three the membership is month to month and you can cancel any time. It buys a clinician licensed in your state, quarterly labs every 90 days, messaging with the care team and video visits.
The medication is the other charge and it belongs to the pharmacy. We prescribe branded, FDA-approved GLP-1 medication when it is clinically indicated: Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro and Ozempic. We never prescribe compounded GLP-1 under any circumstance. Zepbound and Mounjaro are the same molecule.
What each charge covers
Membership versus medication
| Charge | Who bills it | What it covers | What it never covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Membership, $299 a month | GoodLife Health | Clinician access, quarterly labs, messaging, video visits | Medication, pharmacy charges, extra labs beyond the quarterly cadence |
| First charge, $598 | GoodLife Health | The first two months of the membership above | Any medication at any dose |
| Medication | The pharmacy you choose | The drug itself at the pharmacy's own price | Nothing is added by GoodLife Health |
What drives the price up and what holds it down
The published prices above are for self-pay programs the manufacturers run themselves. Where your own path lands depends on a few things.
- The molecule. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are priced differently and the oral options price below the injectables at lower doses.
- The dose. Most self-pay programs price by dose band, so a higher maintenance dose can cost more than a starting one.
- Your insurance. Some plans cover part of a GLP-1 and some cover none of it. Whether a medication is covered is between you, your plan and your pharmacy. We never promise coverage and we never run prior authorization.
- The pharmacy you choose. The prescription is written to the pharmacy you pick and different pharmacies charge differently.
What holds the cost down is that we take nothing on medication. Because we earn nothing on the molecule we have no reason to push a higher dose or a longer course. When two drugs are the same molecule, the clinician decides which is indicated. When your labs support a lower dose, the fee stays the same. You can read the full model in our guide to branded GLP-1 medications at pass-through prices.

What the medication is actually for
It is worth being clear about what the money buys clinically. We never promise weight loss.
The medication also works alongside nutrition and activity and never replaces them. That is why we test first. Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) and Lipoprotein (A) and Hs-CRP and Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and TSH With Reflex To Free T4 help the clinician see whether the weight problem is the whole story. A dose written without that picture is harder to judge.

A year of membership, worked out in full
We would rather you see the arithmetic than trust a feeling. Twelve months of membership is $299 a month, which comes to $3,588 for the year. It includes four lab panels a year at Quest Diagnostics covering Hs-CRP, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, TSH With Reflex To Free T4, Fasting Insulin, Lipoprotein (A), Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), Lipid Panel, Standard, Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) and CBC (Includes Differential And Platelets). Additional labs a clinician orders when there is a reason are billed by the lab at its own rates.
Medication sits on top of that at the pharmacy's price. At the September 2026 published figures, Wegovy pens are $349 a month after the introductory period, paid to the pharmacy on top of the membership. Zepbound vials are $299 to $449 a month depending on dose. Those are the manufacturers' numbers, not ours and your own pharmacy and plan may land somewhere else. The point of publishing them is that you can add the two charges yourself before you commit.
Who should pay the $99 app instead
There is a version of this answer where the honest advice is to leave. If your only goal is the cheapest possible vial and you have no interest in labs or follow-up, a $99 compounded app will cost less in the short run. We do not prescribe compounded GLP-1, so we are not the right home for that purchase. If you want a guaranteed amount of weight loss, no honest clinic can offer one. If you already have a clinician who reads your labs well and charges you nothing extra, keep that relationship.
We built the membership for the person who is tired of paying for an insurance premium that buys eight minutes and for an app that prescribes in a day without looking at the labs. It is one flat fee for the clinician with no markup on the medicine. That is the offer and we would rather you check the math than take our word for it.
Check whether you qualify
Not everyone is accepted. The path is the eligibility check, the intake, the checkout and then a clinician's review and nothing is charged until your clinician accepts you. If the $598 hold is the question in your head, our piece on what the $299 a month actually buys over 24 months works it through year by year. When you are ready, the eligibility check takes about two minutes.
FAQ
Does the $299 a month include the medication?
No. The membership covers the clinician and the quarterly labs. Medication is billed separately by the pharmacy you choose at the pharmacy's own price with no markup from GoodLife Health.
How much does Wegovy cost a month in 2026?
Through NovoCare, Wegovy pens were listed in September 2026 at $199 a month for the first two fills for new patients and $349 a month after that, with the Wegovy pill from $149 a month at lower doses. Check the current figure before you decide because it changes.
How much does Zepbound cost a month in 2026?
Through LillyDirect, Zepbound vials were listed in September 2026 at $299 to $449 a month depending on dose. Your own pharmacy may price differently and insurance coverage is between you, your plan and your pharmacy.
Will my fee go up if my dose goes up?
No. The membership stays $299 a month whatever the medication and whatever the dose. There is no molecule upcharge and no dose upcharge and the fee is the same even if you take no medication at all.
Will insurance cover my GLP-1?
Some plans cover GLP-1 medication and some do not. Whether a medication is covered is between you, your plan and your pharmacy. GoodLife Health never promises coverage and never runs prior authorization.
Why does GoodLife Health not sell the medication too?
Selling medication gives a clinic a reason to prescribe more. We earn nothing on the drug, so the dose does not change what we are paid.
One last thing
The cheapest medication and the best outcome are not the same purchase. A price without a diagnosis tells you little. The membership exists so that only the pharmacy profits from the medication. The quarterly labs show the markers over time. Take your last lab report to the eligibility check.
